Although he was BBC Head of Variety between 1973 and 1975, Morris preferred being in the thick of the action. He enjoyed success producing five Royal Variety Performances, four Eurovision song contests and countless star-led shows featuring the likes of Shirley Bassey, Cliff Richard, Louis Armstrong and Peter Ustinov.
