Monica Sims OBE

Television executive

A British television executive who joined the BBC in 1953 as a producer, Sims became the editor of Woman’s Hour (1964-1967) and then the Head of Children’s Television Programming where she introduced shows including Newsround and Grange Hill. She later served as Controller of Radio 4 and BBC Radio’s Director of Programmes.
