A former Pulitzer prize nominated journalist, Mills moved into writing for television with popular cop shows such as Homicide: Life on the Street (1992-98) and NYPD Blue (1995-97). He also wrote for ER (1997-99), but won greatest acclaim for his work on The Wire (2006-08) alongside its creator David Simon.
