Michael Ballhaus

A German cinematographer who was a frequent collaborator of Rainer Fassbinder, the dynamic Ballhaus shot fifteen films including The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant (1972) for his compatriot. He also shot seven films for Martin Scorsese and received BAFTA nominations for his work on Goodfellas (1990), The Age of Innocence (1993) and Gangs of New York (2002).
