A British director who learned his trade at Elstree Studios under directors such as Anthony Asquith and David Lean, Anderson was best known for his classic war epic The Dam Busters (1955). He notably also directed Around the World in 80 Days (1956), The Wreck of the Mary Deare (1959) and Logan’s Run (1976).
