Adolfas Mekas

Lithuanian born Mekas gained fame as an avant-garde filmmaker in the New American Cinema Group, his best known work being Hallelujah The Hills (1963). Other films include The Double-Barrelled Detective Story (1965), Windflowers (1968) and Companeras and Companeros (1970). He subsequently taught film at Bard College in New York state.
