Bill will always be remembered for his portrayal of 'the mountain man' in John Boorman's Deliverance. Having appeared in over 200 films and television productions, he was one of Clint Eastwood's repertory of actors, appearing in seven of his films, including playing captain Terrell in Outlaw Josey Wales. One of his last appearances was in Frank Darabont's The Green Mile.
