A ubiquitous character actress from the mid-1940s on, Stone was also active on stage and had roles in many popular TV series. She enjoyed eye catching roles in such films as Brighton Rock (1947), Seven Days To Noon (1950), Private’s Progress (1956), Carry On Nurse (1959) and Lolita (1962).
