An American actress who found fame as a film noir femme fatale, Scott began her career as an understudy on Broadway before a magazine photo shoot drew the attention that led to a Hollywood contract. She notably starred opposite Humphrey Bogart in Dead Reckoning (1947) and in Too Late For Tears (1949).
