Ed Lauter

An American character actor with over 200 screen credits, Lauter’s career in film and television spanned five decades. A former stand-up comic, his most notable roles included the sadistic leader of the guards in The Longest Yard (1974), Maloney in Alfred Hitchcock’s final film, Family Plot (1976), and Peppy’s Butler in the BAFTA-winning The Artist (2011).
