After co-creating the character of Mr Magoo while under contract at MGM, Kaufman won acclaim for scripting the Korean war drama Take The High Ground! (1953) and the classic Bad Day At Black Rock (1955). Other films include Raintree County (1957), Never So Few (1959) and The War Lord (1965).
