Jonathan Demme

An eclectic American filmmaker whose work was defined by its emotional warmth and originality, Demme trained under Roger Corman and went on to construct a filmography that included everything from from innovative concert films to acclaimed psychological dramas. His credits included Stop Making Sense (1984), Philadelphia (1993), and the BAFTA-winning The Silence of the Lambs (1991).
