A British director and commissioner who began his career directing live variety shows, Scoffield was best known for commissioning Spitting Image (1984-1996) while Head of Light Entertainment at ITV. He won a Best Single Play BAFTA for Antony and Cleopatra (1974), and also received a nomination for The Stanley Baxter Picture Show: Part III (1975).
