A famous Hollywood magician who performed on stage for more than eight decades, Calvert was best known on screen for playing fictional sleuth The Falcon in Devil’s Cargo (1948), Appointment With Murder (1948) and Search For Danger (1949). His other notable acting credits included Gold Fever (1952) and Dark Venture (1956).
