Miklós Jancskó

A Hungarian director whose work often depicted the fight for his country’s independence, Jancso first announced himself to an international audience at Cannes in 1966 with The Round-Up, the first of five of his films – including Red Psalm (1972) and Electra, My Love (1974) - to be nominated for the Palme d’Or.
