John Hewer

A household face in his garb as Captain Birds Eye in a series of commercials between 1967 and 1998, Hewer began his acting career after the war. He took the title role in The Great Detective (1953) and later played Edwin Cherryble in the BBC production of Nicholas Nickleby (1977).
