A marine biologist and underwater cameraman, Hass became famous alongside his wife Lotte after making the acclaimed documentary Under The Red Sea (1951). The couple followed this up with Under The Caribbean (1954) and the subsequent, highly popular BBC series Diving To Adventure (1956) and Undersea World of Adventure (1958).
