A respected American stage actress, Harris will be most familiar to cinema audiences for her acclaimed lead performances in The Member of the Wedding (1952), East of Eden (1955), I Am A Camera (1955) and The Haunting (1963). She was also a regular on the television series Knots Landing (1980-87).
