A man of many talents whose greatest gift may have been for collaboration, Ramis was a central figure during a defining era for American comedy. As a writer, director and actor he contributed to a number of classics of the genre including Animal House (1978), Caddyshack (1980), Stripes (1981), Ghostbusters (1984) and Groundhog Day (1993).
