A familiar character player frequently cast as authority figures, Hammond was most recently seen as a doctor trying (unsuccessfully) to cure the Duke of York’s stammer with marbles in The King’s Speech (2010). He had previously portrayed another medic attending to regal infirmity in The Madness of King George (1994).
