A British director of predominantly television drama, Theakston worked on a number of popular shows including The Bill (1987-1993), The Mill On The Floss (1997) and New Tricks (2003-2005). He won a Best Drama Serial BAFTA for his best-known work, The Politician’s Wife (1995).
