As one of the writers responsible for The Sweeney (1975-78) Graham was admired for his cinematic flair, a fact endorsed by the invitation to script the film spin-off in 1977. He also contributed to the equally popular The Professionals (1978-82) and wrote and produced episodes of Dempsey and Makepeace (1985-86).
