A Dutch director, producer and writer best-known for performing all three roles on The Vanishing (1988) and directing its American remake in 1993, Sluizer also directed Dark Blood (2012) in 1993 but the sudden death of its star River Phoenix meant it wasn’t completed for nearly 20 years.
