Horton Foote

14 March 1916 - 4 March 2009

Writer

An acclaimed playwright, Foote adapted his own works Baby The Rain Must Fall (1965), Tender Mercies (1983) and The Trip To Bountiful (1985) for the big screen. He won two Oscars, for Tender Mercies and for the screenplay he wrote based on Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird (1962).
