Eleanor Parker

A versatile actress whose career spanned 50 years, Parker’s best-known role was The Baroness in The Sound of Music (1965). Her career began in 1941 when she signed a contract with Warner Bros, aged 19, and Parker went on to receive three Oscar nominations for Caged (1950), Detective Story (1951) and Interrupted Melody (1955).
