A Hungarian actress and singer who became a star of German operetta cinema during the 1930s, Eggerth also found fame on the stage performing in The Merry Widow in Europe and on Broadway. Her film credits included Once There Was a Waltz (1932) and For Me and My Gal (1942) which she starred in opposite Judy Garland.
