An American actress best known for her role as Elly May Clampett on The Beverly Hillbillies (1962-1971), Douglas became synonymous with the role she played in 274 episodes and reprised in The Return of the Beverly Hillbillies (1981). Her other credits included Lover Come Back (1961) and Frankie and Johnny (1966).
