A musical and cultural icon whose songs enriched the soundtracks of hundreds of films and television shows, Bowie also enjoyed a successful acting career with unforgettable roles in The Man Who Fell To Earth (1976), The Hunger (1983) and Labyrinth (1986). He received a BAFTA nomination for best original television music for The Buddha of Suburbia (1993).
