A prolific contributor to Doctor Who in the 1970s, Martin - along with writing partner Bob Baker - originated the character of K-9. They also wrote for Z-Cars, Target and Public Eye, and enjoyed particular success with Thick as Thieves (1974), and the BAFTA-nominated children's' series, King of the Castle (1976).
