A familiar face on British television in the 1970s, Coleman starred opposite Wendy Craig in the popular sitcom And Mother Makes Three (1972) which was followed by And Mother Makes Five (1974). He appeared in a range of other comedy programmes and dramas, and films including 10 Rillington Place (1970).
