A British sound mixer who worked with directors from Francis Ford Coppola to Terrence Malick, Winter received BAFTA nominations for his work on Chariots of Fire (1981), The Mission (1986), Good Morning, Vietnam (1987) and The Commitments (1991), winning for Bugsy Malone (1976), Pink Floyd The Wall (1982) and The Killing Fields (1984).
