A hugely influential actor and director on the stage, most notably with the RSC, Church’s screen appearances were few. They include film roles in Peter Hall’s Work Is A Four-Letter Word (1967) and Polanski’s Tess (1979), while significant television appearances came in Lillie (1978) and Edward And Mrs Simpson (1978).
