A documentary filmmaker and photographer, Channer's most striking films reflect a spirit of reconciliation. For example, For the Love of Tomorrow (1986), recounted the efforts of a French Parliamentarian to build Franco-German relations after the war. Other films include The Serene Smile (1995) and The Imam and the Pastor (2006).
