An Irish actress best known for playing the title role in Beryl’s Lot (1973-1977), McSharry played the cleaner who decides to broaden her horizons and study philosophy as she approaches her 40th birthday. Her other defining role came playing Mrs Hollingbery in In Sickness and in Health (1985-1992).
