A former executive with 20th Century Fox, Brown oversaw films including The Sound of Music (1965) and Patton (1970) before independently producing – with partner Richard Zanuck – further hits such as The Sting (1973), Jaws (1975), Cocoon (1985), Driving Miss Daisy (1989), A Few Good Men (1992) and The Player (1992).
