Michelangelo Antonioni

Director
29 September 1912 to 29 July 2007

A great visual stylist, Antonioni's melancholy world view was conveyed initially in a succession of much admired tales of bourgeois angst. For many, his masterpiece remains L'Avventura (1960), which he followed with La Notte (1960) and L'Eclisse (1962). International movies include Blow-Up (1966), Zabriskie Point (1970) and The Passenger (1975).
