Annie Girardot

An acclaimed actress in post-war French cinema, Girardot came to notice in Visconti’s Rocco and His Brothers (1960). Her versatility was demonstrated in films including Ferreri’s The Ape Woman (1964), Carné’s Trois Chambres à Manhattan (1965), Lelouch’s Vivre pour Vivre (1967), Cayatte’s Mourir d’aimer (1970) and Docteur Francoise Gailland (1976).
