A former Olympic fencer, Anderson became one of cinema’s leading swordfight arrangers after his debut on The Master of Ballantrae (1952). His other films include Barry Lyndon (1975), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Return of the Jedi (1983), The Princess Bride (1987) and The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-03).
