An influential film editor inspired by European cinema, Allen won acclaim for cutting the BAFTA winning Dog Day Afternoon (1975) as well as such diverse films as The Hustler (1961), Bonnie and Clyde (1967), Little Big Man (1970), Serpico (1973), Reds (1981), The Breakfast Club (1985) and Wonder Boys (2000).
