An American actor known for a pair of iconic roles on the big and small screen, Vigoda played Sal Tessio in The Godfather (1972) and The Godfather: Part II (1974). His most enduring role, however, was that of Detective Phil Fish on Barney Miller (1974-1982) and its spin-off Fish (1977-1978).
