Video Games Awards: Official Partners

09 January 12

Find our more about the official partners who generously support the British Academy Video Games Awards.

GAME: Title Sponsor

GAME2011 is the third year that GAME has partnered with BAFTA - to honour and celebrate the wealth of talent in the video games industry.

Message from GAME at the Awards in 2010:

The GAME British Academy Video Game Awards are all about the creative talent and genius minds behind the greatest games. It’s about stopping for a moment to recognise and celebrate the individuals that play a critical role within the video games industry.

In the past twelve months, the circumstances that we all work in have been harder than we could have imagined. However, you have delivered game after game that has excited, challenged and exceeded the expectations of all kinds of gamers not just here in the UK but right across the world and this is something to be very proud of.

We are honoured that Mr Shigeru Miyamoto is here this evening to receive this year’s BAFTA Fellowship. His life time work clearly demonstrates that creativity, innovation and dedication combined with an exceptional team surrounding you, delivers results time after time.

He proves that our industry has a high level of creative talent at its foundation - and it is this foundation that will support us through both the difficult and better times.

The coming year will no doubt be tough but without question it will also be another year of advance in both technology and creativity. Together the teams in this room continue to contribute to the delivery of world-class games and gaming devices and tonight we pause to recognise this.

There is a Japanese proverb: 七転び八起き that translates as ‘stumble seven times but recover eight’.

It’s inevitable that we will always stumble in such a dynamic industry. However there will continue to be opportunities for industries like ours, who always drive forward, working in partnership to inspire and excite consumers in new and inspirational ways.

In many ways we are all lucky to be part of this – nominees, winners, and everyone involved in our industry, including our store teams and the customers they serve every day.
