2008 GAME Award

Over 60,000 people voted for their favourite video game in the BAFTA Game Award 2008.

The GAME Award is for the best game of 2008 and it was up to you to choose which game you wanted to win.

Voting was free of charge and open to everyone - wherever they were in the world. Over 60,000 people cast their vote for their favourite game and the winner was announced at the GAME British Academy Video Games Awards on Tuesday 10 March.

GAME The ten shortlisted titles were chosen by a hand-picked expert panel of games journalists and passionate gamers. They began by looking at the top selling games of the year sold in GAME stores and arrived at the final shortlist through furious game-playing and fierce debate.

The public voted for the best video game of 2010 and Call of Duty: Black Ops came out victorious.

David Tyler is joined by Olly Murs and Game's Lisa Morgan after the British public voted Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 their favourite title of the last year in the Game Award 2009 (BAFTA/Steve Butler).

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was voted the winner of the 2009 GAME Award by the public.
