Awarded for the best gaming experience that combines elements of action and adventure in gameplay.
For demonstrating exceptional visual art and/or animation across all genres.
Rewarding excellence in the design and application of sound, dialogue and music to create an exceptional audio experience.
For the best game of the year, across all genres and platforms.
For the best British game of the year across all genres and platforms. Creative control and overall development must be led by a British development studio.
For the best game from any studio or individual that released their first title in 2013.
For the best game experience for a family audience, whether played as individuals or as a group. This category is only open to titles with a PEGI age rating of 12 or under.
For the best game design that captivates and engages the player. All areas of design are considered here, including game mechanic, use of controls, intelligent level/world structure, pacing and second-to-second game design.
For the best innovation in gameplay and/or technology.
For the best gaming experience on any handheld device, such as a mobile phone, tablet, PlayStation Vita or Nintendo 3DS.
Awarded for the best multiplayer game experience, online or offline.
Awarded for excellence in composition for a game music score, through both original music and use of licensed tracks.
For the best performance featured in a game; from voice artistry through to motion capture. If the entry is shortlisted for the next stage of voting, a supporting statement, maximum 500 words, will need to be submitted for jury purposes. The supporting statement should explain and demonstrate the performance work the actor undertook.
For the sports game that best emulates the playing or management of traditional real-world sports or fitness games.
For excellence in the creation and delivery of the best story that captivates and engages the player.
For the best game centred around the use of strategic gameplay - includes management, life simulators, software that simulates actual events or processes, role playing and real-time strategy games.
The prestigious Fellowship is the highest accolade the Academy can bestow on an individual for outstanding achievement and contribution to the industry through a body of work. View the full list of Academy Fellows .

The BAFTA Ones To Watch award in association with Dare To Be Digital : The Academy is committed to recognising up-and-coming talent in Video Games and the Dare to be Digital competition, originated by Abertay University, represents the perfect means of doing that. Out of the twelve teams that will be judged during Dare ProtoPlay at August's Edinburgh Interactive Festival, three teams will be rewarded; one on the basis of innovation and creativity, one for its game’s market potential and one for the use of technology. These three chosen teams will then form the shortlist for the BAFTA Ones to Watch Award which will be presented at the British Academy Games Awards.
