The Italian Plumber's latest adventure on the Wii claimed the coveted Best Game Award (Nintendo).
Despite missing out on Best Game and three other categories, Fable II picked up the BAFTA for Action & Adventure (Lionhead Studios/Microsoft Game Studios).

First-person horror shooter Left4Dead won the Multiplayer BAFTA (Valve).
Third-person horror Dead Space survived the competition to take home the Original Score Award (Electronic Arts).
Race Driver: GRID accelerated ahead of the competition to claim the BAFTA in the Sports category (Codemasters Studios/Codemasters).
The turn-based game Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution won the Strategy BAFTA (Firaxis Games/2K Games).
As the Awards night evolved Will Wright's Spore was presented with the Technical Achievement Award (Electronic Arts Montreal/Electronic Arts).

Boro-Toro won the BAFTA Ones to Watch Award in association with Dare to Be Digital. The game from DarkMatter Designs is a side scrolling platform puzzle using an innovative control system using Wii technology.
Nolan Bushnell, collected the Academy;s highest achievement - the Fellowhip at the GAME British Academy Video Games Awards in 2009.
