Across two decades and over fifty screen appearances, Philip Seymour Hoffman gave a wide range of powerful and unforgettable performances. He was a five-time BAFTA nominee, winning in 2006 for his performance as the title character in Bennett Miller's Capote. His final nomination came in 2013 for his role as Lancaster Dodd in Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master. In 2011, Hoffman spoke at BAFTA about his acting career in his A Life in Pictures interview.
