The full length Guillermo del Toro interview video is available to watch now on BAFTA Guru.

Producer and director Guillermo del Toro is one of Mexico’s most celebrated filmmakers. Since winning international acclaim for Cronos in 1993, he has given us some of the most visceral, powerful and intelligent films in modern cinema. After delivering two instalments each in the Hellboy and Blade series, he went on to direct Pan's Labyrinth, which won 3 BAFTA Film Awards in 2007 - including the prize for Best Film not in the English Language.

There is beauty, poetry and moments of immense power in horror...

In the full video, available to view now on BAFTA Guru, del Toro talks about his career highs and lows, from his early relationship with Mexican film institute and winning in Cannes (for Cronos) to working in Hollywood and the emotional power of horror movies. ""I believe that magic exists ... the way we see the world we transform it, from the inside out. Every single act - pain, joy - is absolutely our own making,"" he says.
