All that Glitters is Goldfinger: In Conversation with Guy Hamilton

BAFTA celebrates the life and career of director Guy Hamilton and explores the making of a classic Bond film. Bond composer David Arnold hosts this event which also features Goldfinger Bond girl Shirley Eaton. Hamilton went on to direct three more Bond films after Goldfinger - Diamonds are Forever, Live and Let Die, and The Man with the Golden Gun.

Recorded at London's Somerset House in August 2011, Miguel Mera is joined by musicians Martin Phipps and Richard Jacques to discuss the work of the late film composer John Barry. After arranging the famous James Bond theme first heard in Dr. No, Barry went on to write brand-defining Bond scores for 11 of the next 14 films from From Russia With Love in 1963 to The Living Daylights in 1987.

David Arnold: In Conversation

Talking to producer/director Stephen Woolley David Arnold provides a unique insight into an award-winning back catalogue. Arnold reminisces about making compositions at the foot of his bed at the start of his career before discussing his passion for James Bond and the pressure of landing his dream job on the global franchise with Tomorrow Never Dies. Arnold has since gone on to write the scores for The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.
