Join acclaimed composer David Julyan on-stage with BAFTA at Soundtrack Film Festival for a special craft masterclass on his career.

David Julyan began writing music for short films whilst studying at University College London. It was here that David first collaborated with director Christopher Nolan and scored Nolan's first feature Following (1998). Shot with little money on the weekends over a six month period, Following went on to become an unexpected Indie hit.

His work is best known through his further collaborations with Nolan, Momento (2000), Insomnia (2002) and The Prestige (2006), helping to cement David's style for seamlessly blending orchestra with atmospheric electronics to produce subtle and brooding scores.

Subtlety was put aside for the score to Neil Marshall's horror film The Decent (2005) giving David the oppourtunity to create one of his biggest works to date, with its dramatic use of orchestra and choir. Although best known for his dark and atmospheric scores, David has also scored films like the heart-warming irish drama Inside I'm Dancing (2004).

His most recent work released in April 2012 in The Cabin in the Woods, a clever twist on the traditional horror format from Drew Goddard and Joss Wheadon.
