The winners were announced at a glittering ceremony last night hosted by Doc Brown at the Roundhouse in London, attended by guests such as Michael Palin, Keith Chegwin, Pat Sharp, Dick and Dom, Katy Hill and Floella Benjamin.

Our 20th year celebrations started with a bang, with Doc Brown taking on presenting duties once again. His opening rap, breaking down our Awards into some impressive numbers, brilliantly kicked off the ceremony.

There were repeat successes from last year's Awards, with the teams from Katie Morag and Old Jack's Boat winning in the Drama and Pre-School Live Action categories repectively. Cartoon Network show The Amazing World of Gumball win its third BAFTA for Animation and it's sixth award for the show overall. CBBC presenters Sam and Mark were also celebrating, winning in the Presenter Category for the second time.

As always, there was some new talent picking up awards, including the team for I Am Leo (My Life), which won in the Factual category. I Am Leo (My Life) is an eye-opening and intimate documentary, which aired on CBBC as part of anti-bullying week, following the life of transgender 13 year old Leo Waddell. Watch Leo's moving acceptance speech here.

The results of the BAFTA Kids Vote were also announced.  Seven to fourteen year olds were given the chance to have their say on their favourite film, television programme and game; thousands of votes were cast to decide the winners three categories: Minions (Film), The Next Step (TV Programme) and Minecraft (Game).
