BAFTA for Children

BAFTA Kids

Over the past few years, children and their families have enjoyed specially curated BAFTA events all over the UK.

Under the banner BAFTA Kids, we provide an entertaining introduction to the world of film, TV and games, where our youngest audience - children aged 7-14, and their families - can attend events and workshops in a safe, professionally run environment with their favourite presenters and characters.

BAFTA Kids: Behind the Scenes, for instance, is our 90-minute live event that tours the country allowing children to meet creative talent, ask their own questions and take part in competitions and challenges.

In showcasing the winners and nominees from our annual British Academy Children’s Awards, we're helping young people understand the range of creative roles in the media and stimulating interest in exploring their own creativity, all the while supporting the UK's world-class children's media industry.

Online, children can watch our exclusive, behind-the-scenes interviews tailor-made for them on YouTube. And, once a year, the BAFTA Kids’ Vote is their chance to vote for their favourite film, TV programme or game and see the winner announced at the prestigious annual British Academy Children's Awards.

Hospice screenings

Meanwhile, our children’s hospice screenings are held across the UK at Easter and Christmas and provide great entertainment for families of children with life-limiting conditions. Find out more about our screenings here.

Young Game Designers

Young Game Designers - or YGD for short - is our annual competition for 10-18 year olds that helps talented participants disover their love of coding, drawing or story writing for games. YGD gives young people an insight into the world of game making, as well the chance to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences with top game makers who might bring their ideas to life ... Find out more over at ygd.bafta.org.
